Here's an unusual "meatloaf" that isn't too heavy for the summer months. I've posted it before, but it seems to be a perennial favorite, and folks have requested the recipe again and again. So, here it is!
Green Chili Chicken Meatloaf
Here's an unusual "meatloaf" that isn't too heavy for the summer months. I've posted it before, but it seems to be a perennial favorite, and folks have requested the recipe again and again. So, here it is!
My goal each night is to help lift some of the weight of the world off your shoulders and remind you to put your focus back on what is good, what is right, what is true, and what really matters.
I'm super thrilled to be telling you about an artist this week that you all know, even though you might not know you know. You know?
I've played Edwin McCain, over and over and over, on my program for many years. You've chosen his two biggest hits over and over and over again for your weddings, anniversaries, and dedications to the loves of your life. You have. I promise.
If you're having trouble placing the name, you'll remember "I'll be" and "I Could Not Ask For More." Two of the greatest, most requested, most played love songs ever recorded!
But today I'm going to tell you about his NEW stuff. This Friday, August 12, his new EP, O Edwin Where Art Thou, will be released. But guess what? You can listen to some of the tracks TODAY!
It is McCain at his gracious, soulful, story-telling best; and I love it!
Head on over to iTunes and listen to the guy The New York Times calls "The Great American Romantic."
The Stage says the EP "...combines rock, pop, blues, and folk, for one diverse sounding album that stands as McCains best work of America's most vital rock singer/songwriter."
I agree with both. Edwin's romantic heart and incredible musical talent has deepened and matured over the years, but his boyish charm hasn't changed a bit!
Neither has his giving nature. Edwin has been so generous to donate some very special items to be auctioned off for my favorite charity, Point Hope.
You can bid on signed sheet music for two of his new singles, HOME and 8 Miles from a Paved Road... AND (this is soooo awesome!) Edwin will record an outgoing phone message for the winning bidder of this auction!
Bid HERE
THAT, my friends, is way cool!

When Edwin isn't busy crafting music, he's busy at boat craft. Not the kind in the bottle either. Edwin fell upon a passion refurbishing boats some time back, and now does so in ways you and I might never be able to imagine.
You can find him on Animal Planet's Flipping Ships, where not only his handiwork will impress the heck out of you, but his quick wit, and that dazzling smile I was talking about will draw you in and make you want to take to the high seas... or a neighborhood lake, river, stream...
For all things Edwin, visit his web site at edwin.com, and tell him "Hello!" from Delilah.
Sophisticated soufflé is the perfect first course for a special meal. They take a lot of eggs, which I have aplenty and which you can get from The Happy Egg Co.
For August, I've chosen to tell you about a favorite novel of mine, The Shack. Yes, it's been out for several years. Yes, tons of people have already read it. Yes, I've told you all this before!

One of Grandpa Luke's favorite things in the world was berry pie made out of the tiny sweet wild trailing blackberries that are native to the West Coast.
I want to tell you about a book I ran across lately, and immediately said, "THIS is my next book club pick!" My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry, drew me in fast.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads on my reader list, and all those who are not. To all those who gave life and love, and bestowed gifts and values upon their children.
Most of you have heard me talk about my own father. He was a complicated and conflicted man. We had a complicated and conflicted relationship. I am ever-grateful to him for shaping me, consciously or unconsciously, into the person I am today.
I remember him with love.
Tim McGraw's "Humble and Kind," is my June book club selection. This perfect gift-book brings the power of the hit single straight to the written page, reminding us all to stay Humble and Kind!
Today is Memorial Day, the last of a three-day weekend and unofficial kick off of the summer season... and it is so much more!
A national holiday, Memorial Day was set aside by an act of Congress to remember our war dead, from the Civil War onward. To remember. Our war dead.
Do you remember?
How many of you saw my Facebook post yesterday about a man that had a "God moment" and despite the fact that he was having a horrible, rotten, no good, very bad day, was able to notice a woman in the parking lot of the store he'd been shopping at, sitting in her car...?
I have a zebra.
It's true. Call it a rescue. Call it an impulse. Call it an indulgence.... It's actually all three.
Zena the Zebra, was born in captivity, in the southern US, and her mother died. She was taken in by a lovely lady that runs a rescue farm for horses. Zena is not a horse.
Can I come garden with you??? The fabulous folks at The Home Depot are giving me an opportunity to do just that!
I love to share my love of gardening. So I asked my Home Depot friends to help me out and they have! I get to visit YOUR home, help plan YOUR garden, shop with YOU at The Home Depot and then work next to YOU planting and installing!
As I am out in my gardens, or playing with baby goats, laughing and loving with my children and grandchildren... I try to remember to pray. To pray for those who are going through storms.

Tim McGraw’s latest single is titled “Humble and Kind” and with over 40 million views as of today, I believe he struck a chord with a good many people! I know he did with me!
The hit single was inspired by Tim and Faith's daughter who was leaving for college; in true Time McGraw fashion he is speaking from his heart, and beautifully so.
Many of you will also have children graduating from high school in the coming months. But whether they are moving out, moving on, or just moving about their childhood, this is an inspiring song for all of us who wish the very same thing for the children we love.
An amazingly inspirational video accompanies the single.
Watch it HERE.
I love to garden!
No matter where I've lived, the size of my yard (or if I've even had a yard,) I've planted something.
Today I'm fortunate to live on acreage, and I plant a LOT of somethings. Greens, grapes, fruits, veggies, and flowers, flowers, flowers.
Welcome to the new and improved Delilah.com!
I am so excited to share this labor of love with you. We've been hard at work for the past six months and it almost feels like I should be heading to the hospital with a new car seat... so much effort and anticipation and waiting has gone into this endeavor, it's akin to giving birth.
On my new site you'll find everything you could possibly want to know about the Delilah show like where to listen, my book club picks, contests and promotions, what's happening on and off the air, at the farm, and when and where I'm out and about.
We have some new and exciting features in production, like the ability to download audio clips of your dedications and dilemmas, and a live goat cam coming soon! Take your time to look around and get familiar with navigation. Make sure you check out the feature buttons in the What's Happening section.
I'll share my thoughts, my joys, my struggles, and my gratitude with you here, just as I do on the air each evening. If something isn't working just right, please be patient. There will probably be a few bugs to work out initially.
Pop in for a visit. Leave with a recipe, a tip, an image of life on the farm, and inspiration to live the life God intended you to; each day to the fullest!
With love, gratitude, faith, and encouragement to Love Someone!
~ Delilah
