I got a sneak-peak and was thrilled with it! It's the first musical recounting Mary and Joseph's journey and our entire family was absolutely mesmerized from start to finish. It has some really incredible talent; Fiona Palomo, Milo Manheim, Joel Smallbone (from one of our favorite musical groups, for King & Country!), singer/rapper, Lecrae, AND... Academy-Award Nominee, Antonio Banderas portraying the jealous ruler we love to hate, King Herod.

This movie was directed by Adam Anders, and written by Adam and Nikki Anders. Adam is a four-time Grammy nominee and two-time People’s Choice Award winner. For many years, he served as the executive music producer of “Glee”, and you'll see his writing and directing credits extend to an impressive variety of television, movie and music projects.

Way way back in the 1980’s Rick Astley made us a heap of promises, and today he’s making good on them! The guy that would never give us up, let us down, or say goodbye, is back with a brand new album! “Are We There Yet?” released October 13th!

Or are we still travelling?” The time that Rick spent in America’s heartland together with his lifelong love of soul stalwarts Bill Withers, Al Green and Marvin Gaye also informed the new album. It’s particularly prominent in‘ Dippin My Feet’, which puts an invigorating twist on Rick’s signature style.

I’m a firm believer that Christmas is something to be celebrated all the year through, and I’m looking forward to several July evenings with the kids (maybe some mornings too!) having a little “down-time” from our activity-packed summer, watching Christmas movies on Great American Family! Belinda Carlisle | "Kismet"

Belinda Carlisle has touched the hearts of pop fans around the world while creating the song-track to so many of our memories!

She began her career as co-founder and lead vocalist of the all-female new wave/rock band The Go-Go’s and has amassed worldwide sales in excess of 15 million albums and singles! 

Their 1980's self-penned, multi-platinum debut album, Beauty and the Beat saw international top-10 singles in “Our Lips Are Sealed” and “We Got the Beat” which became enduring anthems for independent women from ages 8 to 80.

When the band dismantled in 1985, she quickly released Belinda in 1986 with an out-of-the-box, gold-certified smash, “Mad About You”, and the hits just kept coming. “I Get Weak” and “Circle in the Sand,” put Belinda-mania into full effect.

Belinda, after decades in the music business, shows no signs of slowing down. Like most of us, she's more grounded than she was back in the 80's but just as talented and sharing the same energy and verve as she did when she burst onto the scene.

There’s a new movie coming to theaters April 28th and it’s going to be one you’ll want to see!

It will include his world heavyweight champion run, his “retirement” which lead him to his faith and ministerial role, and how, after his church and his family face hardships he returns to the ring and becomes the oldest in boxing history to claim the title of heavyweight champion at 45 years of age!

New Movie | Jesus Revolution

A new movie will be in theaters on February 24th, “JESUS REVOLUTION”. It’s a must-see.

This is not a faith-based movie as much as it is a movie of faith and revival. Specifically, it’s the historic retelling of what TIME Magazine called the “The Jesus Movement”, a series of events that happened in southern California in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s that launched the biggest spiritual awakening in American history, setting in motion a new counterculture crusade.

“In the 1970s, young Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney) is searching for all the right things in all the wrong places: until he meets Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie), a charismatic hippie-street-preacher. Together with Pastor Chuck Smith (Kelsey Grammer), they open the doors of Smith’s languishing church to an unexpected revival of radical and newfound love.” Charlene Laurie (Kimberly Williams Paisley) and Cathe Laurie (Anna Grace Barlow) also play pivotal roles.

I recently had Kelsey Grammer, who portrays Pastor Chuck Smith, on my podcast, LOVE SOMEONE with Delilah, and was able to get a sneak-peak at the movie before the conversation. I would have a difficult time expressing to you how much I loved it. I was a pre-teen when billboards outside my small hometown began proclaiming “I Found God!” The movement was spreading, though it would be another 15 years or so before I was to have my own, personal, Jesus revolution that changed my life forevermore.

Inspired by a remarkable true story, 5000 BLANKETS is filled with hope and highlights the power of family and faith.

When her husband has a mental breakdown and goes missing, a determined woman and her young son set out to find him on the streets, sparking a movement of compassion toward those in need and inspiring a city.

5000 BLANKETS features Anna Camp (PITCH PERFECT 1 and 2) as Cyndi; Rob Mayes (THOR: RAGNAROK) as her husband, Bobby; and Carson Minniear (RALLY CAPS) as her son, Phillip.

Bobby is a loving and lovable husband and devoted father, who struggles with mental health issues. After suffering a mental breakdown he checks himself out of the treatment facility leaving his concerned family to wonder where he’s gone and if he’s safe.

His wife, Cyndi and their son, Philip, start combing the streets to find him. Seeing so many un-homed and suffering breaks their hearts and inspires them to help where they can. With their church and others lending a hand they set to work giving out blankets and dignity to those living on the streets in their Texas community, and in the process they find purpose and hope for themselves.

The Chosen | Season 3 Begin

The Chosen, Season 3 - the multi-season streaming TV series about the life of Jesus of Nazareth - is here!

In an exciting twist this year, they are debuting episodes 1 and 2 of the most emotional and consequential season to date on the big screen beginning November 18th. Tickets are on sale now, so don't hesitate, it's going to be a wonderful night out!

I was recently invited to tour the set of The Chosen at their brand-new home at Salvation Army's Camp Hoblitzelle, in Midlothian, Texas, and meet with several members of cast and crew.

The set build was a huge undertaking, the landscape needed to believably represent biblical locales (such as the Feeding of the 5,000) while also housing production facilities, a state-of-the-art, 30,000-square-foot soundstage and an authentic first-century city. The biblical set covers two acres, or approximately two football fields side-by-side.

When filming is complete, the set will be turned back over to the Salvation Army to use in their outreach with children's camps. AND I GOT TO SEE AND EXPERIENCE IT ALL!!!I

The Chosen came to me in the midst of a world-wide pandemic - when Fear and Hope were running a footrace and Fear seemed to be taking the lead. The Chosen showed up and showed me and my family that all it took was a matter of perspective (and a mustard seed of faith) to see that Hope was going to be the clear and obvious winner each and every time they matched up in a competition. 

I don't know what you may be going through right now, but I do know that we all have something. Some challenge, some trial, some insecurity that weighs upon us.  I encourage you - as I always do, to let go and let God, and while you're working on that, watch The Chosen.

Its characters are sublimely multi-dimensional, beautifully flawed, brilliantly portrayed, and you will come away awed and inspired. 

2022 Merry Music Musts!

It’s THAT TIME again! The time I’ve been waiting for all year long… Time for Christmas music all day, every day!

Nothing makes me quite as giddy as the day we flip the switch to all-Christmas programming, it comes after weeks of planning and preparation and we do it because we want to sprinkle the magic of Christmas music over some part of each and every day.

Maybe it helps to put you in a festive mood as you leave the office and head home each day, or perhaps it gets you into a holiday cookie baking spirit. Hopefully too, it helps you to remember the reason for the season.

Chicago has released their first new music in eight years!

New Music | Mandy Moore: "In Real Life"

Mandy Moore’s much anticipated new music album is finally here! The 11-track album,“In Real Life”, releases Friday, May 13th, and I’ll be the first in line!

I spoke with Mandy while she was busy wrapping up the final episodes of “This Is Us” and simultaneously getting ready to launch this new album. You can listen to that conversation - one of the most fun I’ve had on my podcast series, LOVE SOMEONE with Delilah - HERE.

Mandy dropped several hints about her new music during our conversation. I know it came fast on the heels of 2020’s “Silver Landings” , her first new body of work in over a decade, but unfortunately the pandemic prevented her from touring and sharing that project as widely as she’d planned.

A brand new baby with husband, Taylor Goldsmith, took centerstage instead, but as opposed to burying the momentum that had been set into motion, the magic and mysteries of motherhood served to expand that creative energy, and “In Real Life” was born.

What can we expect? It’s being described as “a gloriously unpredictable sound, touched with elements of everything from jangly college-rock to cinematic synth-pop to classic singer/songwriter simplicity.

From the very first seconds of the album-opening “Real Life,” Moore fully immerses the listener in her intimate lyricism and kaleidoscopic sound.

With its elegant collision of moody guitar work, glacial synth lines, and luminous strings, the slow-burning epic captures the blissful upheaval of becoming a mother (“I spent every day/Filling every page/How the world revolved around me/When I saw your face/I knew right away/We’d be whoever we wanted to be”)…

All throughout In Real Life, Moore suffuses her lyrics with an unguarded humanity that’s undeniably tied to her philosophy as a songwriter. “To me it’s all about staying open, staying aware, staying sensitive and empathetic to the people around me,” she says. “There’s something about expressing myself through lyrics and melody that makes me feel whole, and I see it as a privilege to have that outlet. And even though this album is very specific to me and my experience—there’s songs about my baby, my husband, my father, my friends—I hope everyone’s able to see their own lives in it. I hope they’re able to come along on the journey with me, and put themselves in the driver’s seat.””

Mandy takes her new music and her extreme talent on the road this summer on a coast-to-coast tour. I know I’ll be in the crowd when she’s in my neighborhood, and I know it will be a magical experience for you too!

I’ve long been a fan of author Francine Rivers. Her books are always meticulously researched, steeped in rich historical detail, and filled with complex, fascinating characters. Her stories are as layered and nuanced as life itself. It’s been a while now, but I have featured a few of them as my monthly Book Club choices.

One of her most beloved novels, REDEEMING LOVE, has recently been made into a major motion picture, and I hope you’ll all be going to see it when it’s released by Pinnacle Peak Pictures later this month.

REDEEMING LOVE is a skillful retelling of the biblical love story of Gomer and Hosea in a setting that America has long romanticized, the Old West. It’s been called “a powerful story of relentless love and perseverance as a young couple’s relationship clashes with the harsh realities of the California Gold Rush of 1850” . New Movie | AMERICAN UNDERDOG

Kurt and Brenda Warner’s incredible true story of faith, family, and football has been made for the big screen.

Life made them underdogs. Faith made them champions. From Kingdom Story Company and The Erwin Brothers — the directors of I CAN ONLY IMAGINE — comes AMERICAN UNDERDOG, based on the inspirational true story of Kurt and Brenda Warner.
