Cabbage Potato Onion and Smoked Sausage : Pour some oil in a big skillet, get it medium hot, add sliced cabbage first, then a couple sliced potatoes. Add chopped onion and cup of smoked sausage. Add a little water over everything, cover and cook about 35 minutes. A friend told me about this and it sure went over well with my family. We love it! Naomi
Chicken Taco Soup is easy. 1 can chili beans, 1 can black beans, 1 can corn, 2 cans Rotel, 12 oz bottle or can of beer (I just used water), 1 packet taco seasoning, 3 chicken breasts. Put everything in the slow cooker and cook about 6 hours on low. Take the chicken out, shred it and mix it back in. when heated through, serve with shredded cheese, sour cream, and crushed tortilla chips on top. Michelle
Rotisserie Chicken and Gravy . I run a home daycare and I have four of my own children, so on weeknights when I just don’t have the time or patience to make dinner, I often run to the market for the rotisserie chicken already hot and cooked. I slice it up, put it on bread and pour some gravy on it. Or I toss it with a can of petite diced tomatoes and serve it up over rice. Elizabeth
I bet the ingredients in the smoked sausage dish could also be put in a baking dish and popped in the oven to cook. Casserole style. What are you serving up to your loved ones to keep them warm this winter? I’d love to hear from you and get your secrets.
