Hot Holiday Punch
1 gallon Martinelli’s Cider
48 whole cloves
4 teaspoons whole allspice
6 cinnamon sticks
1 cup sugar, or to taste
1 cup orange juice
juice of 1 medium lemon
Bring all ingredients to a slow boil and simmer about 10 minutes. Strain and serve hot. Garnish with additional cinnamon sticks if desired. Serves 20.
Martinelli's Hot Cider Egg Nog
½ cup heavy cream
1 cup milk
½ cup Martinelli's Cider or Apple Juice
1 large egg
¼ cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch ground nutmeg
Pinch salt
¼ cup brandy (optional)
Garnish:
cinnamon sticks
¼ cup heavy cream
In a heavy saucepan, combine the first 8 ingredients. Cook over medium-low heat for about 15 minutes, whisking occasionally, until thickened. Remove from heat. Stir in brandy, if desired. Pour into individual glasses or mugs. Garnish each serving with a dollop of whipped cream, 1 to 2 cinnamon sticks, and a sprinkling of nutmeg. Makes 2 to 4 drinks.
