The election is coming up if you hadn’t noticed by all the additional flyers in your mailbox and political ads during commercial break. It’s election season and people are starting to get very passionate about their views, even on my non-political Facebook page.

I’ve been trying to delete as many of the negative political comments as I can find on my Facebook page, because what I’ve come to learn is negative, mean-spirited remarks will not change anyone’s mind, and it doesn’t do anyone any good. Instead of stirring up angry debate, I have a better idea: let’s pray for our country and for our leaders to make wise choices and that whoever wins will lead our country to peace and prosperity.

I certainly believe in standing up for what you believe in and healthy debate and exercising your right to vote. But I don’t believe in getting angry and mean and insulting each other in the process. What’s the point? What change will that bring about? What good will it do?

If you are tired of the heated debates and political ads, take a break and join me on the airwaves tonight. The only issues I’ll be talking about are issues of the heart. You can find some respite from the stormy arguments and ads in the songs and stories on my show. I promise to soothe off the rough edges from your day and bring a note of peace to your night.
