Zack is in junior high school now but when he was in kindergarten they assigned the children a color square on a rug. When it was their day to be on that color square they got to do show and tell. So Wednesday became Zack’s favorite day of the week because he got to be on the green square and he got to do show and tell that day.

Wednesday became a day to celebrate when he was in kindergarten. And then it carried over into first grade and in his heart Wednesday was still a day to celebrate. And now several years later, he still thinks Wednesdays are the best day of the week! He has such a great attitude about Wednesday and he doesn’t even need a color square to be excited about it anymore. Nevertheless, I say Happy Green Day today!

I realize you may need a little more than a color square on a rug to give you reason to celebrate a particular day. But my point in all of this is to encourage you to pick a day, one day a week or month, and plan to do something you look forward to. Whether it’s yoga, a Skype session, dinner and a movie, a hike with a friend, banana splits for dessert, etc. Make some “you time” and stick to it. Do something that gives you cause to wake up and celebrate!
