Many, many years ago I put my daughter to bed for the night with a very sore arm following an ice-skating fall earlier that day.

Early the next day as we were waiting in the ER to get a cast on the newly-diagnosed fractured arm, Katy told me she had very little sleep that night. It seems she had been sneaking multiple upstairs phone calls (with the help of her older brother) to the Delilah show to dedicate a Mother's Day song for me!!!

I always think about what love that showed trying to surprise me despite her unknown and unset fracture. Now she's getting her Masters and I would like to dedicate "I Hope You Dance" to my 'little girl'. –Marie
