So it has been my mission since he passed away last month to make sure as many people as possible know that Sammy lived. Because of his life and death, people will know that children like him still need love and support. Sammy was such a kind, loving child despite his rough beginnings. He would give away the shoes on his feet if someone needed them, I know that. His smile and his joy have been described as contagious. He had such a love of life and people, even thru his sickness. And so it’s his legacy of love and kindness and joy of life that I also want to pass on.
Which brings me to you. When God calls you home, what will people remember about how you lived? Will your life have made a difference? Will your love have made a difference to someone and will you have changed the world for someone, if not some people? You don’t have to be a great orator or professor or one of life’s great philosophers to impact people. You don’t have to have a lot of money or be famous to change lives. You simply have to love and show kindness and compassion.
Think about that today. Think about the simple changes you can make right now, today. Think about easy ways to show kindness to another person today. Think about the example you want to be for your children. Put it into practice today. Make a choice today to be the best person you can be in your situation right now. Just a thought.
