For example, I would think how hard it is to be a single parent but take for granted the fact I got to kiss all the boo boos and receive every grateful hug. If you’ve ever faced a difficult move, you may focus more on how hard it was to move away from friends and family but take for granted the blessed experiences that could only happen in that new place.

I think how heartbreaking it has been to lose my son Sammy, but I’m realizing what an amazing legacy he is leaving behind and how more orphans will be spared because of him. How in his memoriam, Point Hope is going to build a safe, loving home in Africa for orphans who suffer from chronic or terminal illness.

I’m trying to be positive and I’m trying to see the good in difficult situations. I’m trying to adopt an attitude of gratitude because I know when I focus on the good things, life makes more sense. I don’t feel lost or betrayed. Instead I feel like I have purpose and that there must be a reason for my trying times.

If you are going thru a difficult time or struggling with a particular situation, you may not know the reason for it now, but there is one. It’s just another woven thread in your intricate and beautiful tapestry. It’s what makes you who you are. So keep your chin up in those tough times and try to see good in every situation.
