Delilah's Garden In Bloom

This is one of the times during the year when I am in awe of God's majesty with colors and nature. My flower beds and gardens are in full bloom, after what seemed like a forever Winter and rainy Spring.

Now, everywhere I turn in my yard I see vibrant colors and beautiful blooms. As if you were with me when I get the chance to walk around my yard and marvel in the beauty, take a moment and let me share the beauty of an Iris, the vibrancy of a rose or the way a Lily looks when it is just at its' peak of perfection.

I hope you are seeing beautiful colors in your yards and your neighborhoods. This is the time of year to soak in the colors with your eyes and appreciate what we have to enjoy in the way of Nature.

Delilah Returns to Buduburam 2008

I am rarely away from the radio studio and microphone, but when I am, I am most likely visiting Ghana. There's a large part of my heart that resides in that West African country, and specifically, with a group of Liberian refugees living in Budaburam, a camp maintained originally by the United Nations. There's a good group of people there with virtually no means of income or assistance. I give of my time and resources, as do many of my friends and listeners, and try to make a difference year round. I was there in February of this year to witness the impact we make with nutrition programs, installing fresh water for the residents, farming and medical assistance. No matter how much we accomplish, I never leave feeling I have done enough to help and cannot wait to make my next trip there, again, from America.

Picture Perfect

None of us simply wake up "camera ready." But once in awhile, a day comes along when the sun is shining, you've had a good night's rest... and the hair is fully cooperating. Such was the case this past weekend, and I was musing about just how blessed I am by God when this photo was taken. Normally the camera catches me behind the microphone, or painting a wall, working in my garden, or working on a project with one of my kids. Those photos often reveal me with headphones crowding my face, or with dirt-stained knees in the garden, or with a slight smattering of paint on my cheek. Even so, I am thrilled to capture those special memories, the moments that make life so worthwhile, and share them with you. But when a full night's rest and a "good hair day" happens, one cannot resist sharing those little blessings as well!
