In the beginning there was this overwhelming passion to entertain people. My earliest memories are colored with comedy, always looking for the funny side of things. When I was ten, I wrote insulting letters about all of our neighbors and then hand-delivered each one (most of them thought it was funny). I was always fascinated with radio and television. When I was in the third grade I began writing scripts for radio and TV shows. I would act them out, record them and, send them off to Hollywood. I never received a response, but that didn't stop me.
During my freshman year in college I got an internship with a morning radio show. I contributed greatly to their prank phone call ideas. I of course did not give away my best stuff. I always leave something out incase I need to use it on present company. Besides, I always am in a constant state of reinventing myself when it comes to that sort of thing. I was one of seven children, and both of my parents come from big families too. When I was in high school, I had to be careful when a guy asked me out on a date, they might have been a shirt-tail cousin!! But, since I rarely showed up to school it wasn't a problem. I eventually got through high school and later even managed to make it through college. I earned a degree in communications but was uncertain at one point whether they were going to give it to me or not... Some little misunderstanding over a certain math credit I dodged for four years. After realizing my fantasy of out smarting the head of the math department was not a real good idea, I relented and found myself in the math lab trying to memorize quadratic formulas. I was assured that one day this knowledge would pay off if I ever needed to communicate with aliens. And oddly enough, they were right! I now work for and with a group of people that are definitely from another planet. TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER!
Speaking of Delilah, I not only produce her show, we've been the best of friends for 15 years. In fact, we were even roommates for a while, but she refused to have cable television in her home, so that ended that arrangement. After living happily alone for a few years (with my premium digital cable package and Lucky Dog), I decided it was time to share my life with someone. No, I still couldn't get a date but, I did adopt a baby. Her name is Jesse and she rules my life. Her existence has obliterated everything I ever thought of as happiness and joy. Jesse embodies the word beautiful. She is sweet, smart, kind and, funny. She has taught me love on a level I did not think possible. I have lived an adventurous life so far. I have chased goals and dreams, literally, all over the world. I have seen amazing things but none of it compares to the experience of being Jesse's mom. I am truly a blessed person and I appreciate everything I have. Here are some other things I dig!
