Well, it all began in Warwick, Rhode Island, where I was born and raised. I am blessed with two wonderful parents, Jack and Patti Martin, that helped me get to where I am today. I grew up the youngest of three. My sister Kerri is six years older, and my brother Brian is three years older. They broke all of the rules first to make it easier for me.
Growing up as the youngest in the family has its ups and downs, but ultimately it played a huge role in making me the man I am today. I was lucky enough to have the protection of my two older siblings; however I will never be able to break the “baby” status, even though I am the biggest of the litter.
My high school days consisted of sports, friends, sports, and oh, yeah, sports. By the way, did I mention sports! I played varsity football and golf, was on the track team, and wrestled. Even now, I still enjoy sports. I love watching and following them, especially my favorite teams, the New England Patriots, and the Boston Red Sox. You can take me out of New England, but you can’t take the New England out of me!
On my days off you can find me out on the golf course. I’ve got a booming drive, and on occasion, you may even see me sporting some Paine Stewart knickers. Thanks to both of my late grandfathers, John Martin and Bob Evans, I have gained a lifelong passion for the game. I spent the years after high school at Rhode Island College, and earned a Bachelors’ degree in telecommunications. It was here that I began my career in radio. I started out as an intern for a Clear Channel four station cluster in Providence, during my senior year. As an intern, I had an enthusiasm and passion that helped me to climb the ladder from Traffic Tracker, to Promotions Team Leader, onto Engineer, then Board Op, up to Production Assistant, and finally all the way to Producer of a New England wide night show.
I was soon given the opportunity to spread my wings, and go beyond the border of little Rhody, when I received a phone call from Jane, about a Producer position here with the Delilah show. So far it’s been a great experience, and I’m thrilled to be here. Being a part of the Delilah show is an opportunity a guy from little ole Rhode Island can be quite proud of! I am also proud to say that I am engaged to a wonderful girl named Nicole, who has been by my side through it all. As the newest addition to the Delilah crew, I am surrounded by an awesome group of co-workers, and I couldn’t be happier!
