Dale Let me say right off that the people I work with are
wonderful, I'm happy to be a part of this show. I'll let you in on a secret, though: it's OK to poke fun at this show, I do it every night!
I always loved listening to radio; it was part of the rhythm of daily activity; without it the day didn't seem balanced. As a child I was eager to get involved at the local radio station, calling up to answer morning trivia questions, the answers given to me by my parents most of the time. I made radio shows with a cassette recorder, playing 45s and talking in between songs as I switched the records.  Music is an everyday activity for me as well- jazz albums fill the majority of my personal library, but I can't say I really dislike any type of music. I consider myself a fairly competent musician- I try to play music as much as possible, sometimes other things, like eating and sleeping just get in the way. Yeah, you could call me a band geek, and yes, I did go to "band camp." I considered making music a career, but decided to keep it a hobby.
I started working at the local radio station in high school. In college I was constantly involved in it, at the student radio station and a professional National Public Radio station.
College was pretty cool- I was fortunate to have the opportunity to do it. I attended interesting classes, played music, and did radio. Radio got in the way of some things, like sleeping and classes, and sometimes I slept IN classes. But I easily fulfilled the math and science requirements, and earned a degree with a concentration in broadcast journalism.
I'm happy to have loving parents, a great sister, and an incredible extended family.
